Differential Brands Group has acquired a significant stake in Global Brands Group Holding (GBG) for $1.2bn.
As part of the transaction, Differential Brands has changed its name to Centric Brands to identify as a lifestyle brand collective platform.
GBG offers kids wear, women’s and men’s accessories and apparel through a number of brands such as Calvin Klein, Under Armour, and Tommy Hilfiger.
WH Smith has agreed to acquire 100% share capital of InMotion for $198m.
Based in the UK, WH Smith is a leading retail group, while InMotion is a digital accessories retailer with stores in US airports.
InMotion’s infrastructure and business development capabilities will enable WH Smith to launch the airport retail format in North America.

Tanachira Retail Corporation has acquired HARNN for THB1bn ($30.07m).
Tanachira Retail is a distributor of international fashion and lifestyle brands, while HARNN is a health and beauty brand. Both companies are based in Thailand.
The transaction involved the acquisition of HARNN’s brand and intellectual property assets as well as its business networks and brands, including HARNN, Vuudh, Tichaa by HARNN, Harnn Heritage Spa and Asian Holistic Academy.
Self Esteem Brands has acquired Dethrone Corporate, LLC (also known as Basecamp Fitness) for an undisclosed amount.
Self Esteem Brands is the parent company of Anytime Fitness, while Dethrone Corporate owns and operates fitness chain studios.
Both companies involved in the transaction are from the US.
Riverside Motor Group has completed the acquisition of Harratts Group Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
Both based in the UK, Riverside Motor is an award-winning car dealer group, while Harratts Group is a dealer of new and used cars.
