M&As this week: Nonn’s Flooring, Bluefish Office Products, Groupon

Specialist retailer Nonn’s Flooring has completed the acquisition of Malkin’s Flooring.

Specialist retailer Nonn’s Flooring has completed the acquisition of Malkin’s Flooring.

Nonn’s will operate its showroom at N95W17055 Falls Parkway under the brand name Malkin’s Flooring, following the transaction.

Both retailers involved in the transaction are based in the US.

Bluefish Office Products has completed the acquisition of Harts Business Solutions for an undisclosed consideration.

The target company will continue to operate under the same name, upon completion of the transaction.

Bluefish Office Products is a UK-based retailer, while Harts is an independent business solutions provider.

“The transaction will enable Groupon to enhance its offerings for consumers in the UK and beyond.”

The transaction will enable the acquirer to expand its footprint into the Essex and Cambridgeshire area in the UK.

American worldwide e-commerce marketplace Groupon has acquired Cloud Savings Company for $65m.

Cloud Savings owns online discount code platform Vouchercloud and brand loyalty provider Giftcloud.

The transaction will enable Groupon to enhance its offerings for consumers in the UK and beyond.

Sainsbury’s plans to merge with supermarket retailer Asda, a part of American company Walmart.

The proposed merger of the UK’s second and third biggest supermarkets is expected to offer goods at reduced prices and surpass current market leader Tesco, representing 30% of the UK grocery sales.

Expected to be completed in late-2019, the deal is subject to review by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

Viking Global Investors has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Birchbox for a $15m cash consideration.

Viking Global is a US-based investment firm, while Birchbox is a retailer of beauty, grooming and lifestyle products.
