US-based McLane has opened a grocery distribution centre at the Ocala International Commerce Center in Florida.
The new McLane Ocala location marks the sixth distribution centre for the company in Florida and will offer services to the company’s customer base in the North Florida region.
The facility is expected to create more than 400 new jobs in Marion County.
Covering 400,000ft², McLane Ocala features 165,000ft² for dry grocery, around 200,000ft² for perishables, and 35,000ft² for office and support space.
McLane is planning to hire 316 employees for warehouse and support operations and 120 employees as drivers and transportation support team by the end of this year.
McLane Ocala division president Michelle Chesnutt said: “We are thrilled to open our new facility in Ocala where the business community is welcoming and open to growth.

Construction Management Technology (CMT) has served as the general contractor for the project and oversaw renovations and development of the facility.
The facility has received its first shipment this month and will begin deliveries starting on 17 March.
McLane currently operates more than 80 distribution centres across the US under McLane Grocery and McLane Foodservice banners.
The company has a grocery centre in Kissimmee and four foodservice centres in Lakeland, Haines City, and two in Orlando.
