UK supermarket chain Asda experienced a technical glitch in its card machines, which subsequenty resulted in long queues at its checkouts.
The technical glitch affected all of its stores on Sunday.
The firm, however, was able to resolve the issue in most of its stores, reported The Guardian.
An Asda spokesperson was quoted by the publication as saying then: “We are in the process of resolving a technical issue with our card payment system in stores.
“We’re continuing to process payments as quickly as we can but apologise to our customers for the inconvenience this has caused.”
Customers reportedly had to wait for an hour and in some cases, even more at the checkout counters.
