
French-based retailer Carrefour has opened a new outlet in Sao Paulo, Brazil, highlighting its 50th store.
The new convenience store focuses on providing flexibility and comfort, as well as a daily range of fresh and ready-to-consume items.
Located within the Metrô Tucuruvi mall in the city’s northern sector, the outlet is the fourth to be opened in a shopping centre.
The other stores are also located at Jardim Paulista, Saúde, Moema, and Santo Amaro.
In addition, Carrefour has also opened a new store in Veranda shopping centre, Bucharest, Romania.
This new outlet increased the number of stores operated by the hypermarket chain in Bucharest to 12, and 31 overall in Romania, reported ESM magazine.
The new store has a floor space of 7,500m² and a parking facility for 1,200 cars.
It has approximately 300 employees.
Claimed to provide a modern and convenient experience to shoppers, the hypermarket features a special snack area and offers free home delivery services to elderly customers and those with busy schedules.
This store accepts the Carrefour Pay app, which enables customers to check prices in-store and pay at the checkout with their smartphones.
This app is available for download for Android and iOS.
As of June, the Carrefour group operated over 11,500 stores in more than 30 countries.
