US-based online car retailer Carvana has opened a fully automated, coin-operated car vending machine in Houston, Texas.
The company stated that its car vending machine offers a unique experience for customers who buys a car online
Located in an eight-storey building, the new car vending machine can store up to 30 cars. The building consists of four delivery bays, making it three storeys taller and one delivery bay larger than its sister location in Nashville, Tennessee, which opened last year.
Carvana founder and CEO Ernie Garcia said: “People responded so positively to our Nashville vending machine that we knew we had to bring the experience to additional markets.
“Houston is a natural fit for a car vending machine, and we are thrilled to be able to offer customers this unique and, we hope, memorable pick-up option in addition to the free, as-soon-as next-day delivery services we launched in Houston late last year."
Customers can search for and buy their desired car online at Carvana.com. Once the purchase is complete, they have the option to get their car delivered directly to their door, or can choose to pick it up at one of Carvana’s car vending machines.
