Groupe Fnac SA has announced its plans to raise €650m ($725m) through private placement of senior notes due 2023.

The company plans to use the funds for refinancing, as well as to pay certain fees and expenses.

Groupe Fnac is a culture, leisure, technology and consumer electronics retailer based in France.

Depop has secured €7.4m ($8.25m) in funding through a group of venture capital firms.

A UK-based online buying and selling marketplace, Depop plans to use the funds to expand its presence in the US.

The venture capital firms involved in the transaction included Balderton Capital (UK), Holtzbrinck Ventures, Creandum, Red Circle Investments, and Lumar.
