Electronics e-retailer Newegg has collaborated with FedEx to enable customers to order and hold packages for pick-up at more than 2,500 FedEx locations across the US.
Newegg customers shipping to US addresses will have the option of Hold at FedEx location, which allows packages to be stored securely at the location for free for up to five business days.
The company claimed that this new order-delivery option provides customers 'peace-of-mind' about shipping to secure locations, along with the flexibility to pick up their orders.
FedEx marketing vice-president David Payton said: “As e-commerce continues to grow, Hold at FedEx Location is an added benefit that gives customers more flexibility to receive their shipment to better fit their schedules.
“It’s our physical network, built over 40 years, that’s powered FedEx to provide new solutions and serve as an engine of e-commerce.”
Newegg chief executive officer Danny Lee said: “FedEx has always been an integral part of our order-delivery infrastructure, with reliable, timely delivery of customers’ orders to their doorsteps.
