Hypermarket chain Globus has debuted its new Scan & Go solution in its stores in Russia using NCR FastLane Mobile Shopper powered by Re-Vision.

Globus initially launched the solution in one of its hypermarkets in Moscow last December.

The launch offers customers an option to pick up a Zebra MC18 device when they enter the store and scan their purchases, expediting checkout at a designated area.

"With our Scan & Go system, shopping becomes faster and more comfortable."

Globus checkout systems and processes head Denis Rossoshanskij said: "With our Scan & Go system, shopping becomes faster and more comfortable.

“Globus was among the first retailers in Russia to introduce self-checkout technology, which has become an integral part of our store transformation strategy."

NCR FastLane Mobile Shopper enables retailers to provide their customers with flexible shopping options both inside and outside the store.

Using the new service, Globus intends to offer a convenient shopping experience to its customers by avoiding placing items on the checkout belts, as well as reducing queues.

The customers can then pay at designated areas equipped with NCR’s SelfServ 90 card-only checkout or at an NCR FastLane SelfServ Checkout with payment methods such as cash, card, Apple Pay or Samsung Pay.

Fully integrated with Globus' point-of-sale infrastructure, the Scan & Go solution also provides product information, pricing or targeted offers via integration to the firm’s current loyalty programme.
