Swedish fashion retailer H&M is set to open an outlet in Mohali, a city in northern part of India.

This is the sixth outlet for the retailer in the country. It will be located at North Country Mall and open on 28 May.

Spanning an area of more than 27,000ft², this will be the first H&M store in Punjab’s tri-city area.

“H&M sees great potential for further expansion both in our existing regions, as well as new regions within India.”

The store will feature dedicated sections for ladies, men, children and teenagers.

Hennes and Mauritz Retail country manager Janne Einola said: “H&M sees great potential for further expansion both in our existing regions, as well as new regions within India.”

Last month, it was reported that the company plans to open more than 400 new stores and enhance its e-commerce business to Japan, as well as ten more markets.
