KeHE Distributors has opened its first distribution centre in Colorado, US.

The 270,000ft² facility in Aurora, near Denver, joins KeHE's network of 17 distribution centres that provide organic products to natural food and grocery stores, as well as other speciality retailers throughout North America.

KeHE president and CEO Brandon Barnholt said: "Our new site demonstrates our commitment to serving a geographically diverse customer base and employing innovative practices and sustainability measures that enhance our operations."

The facility has received LEED Gold certification.

It uses energy-efficient practices throughout its operations, from water heaters and HVAC to skylights and lighting controls.

The new site also features LED lighting, recycled packaging material, and software devices to monitor electric usage.
