Set up almost three decades ago, the fashion house plans to sell its products through other retailers.

The recent years has seen several other retailers also reduce their offline presence due to tough competition from online retailers. Among the retailers that announced the intention to reduce their offline presence include Michael Kors, Coach, and Fossil.

Kenneth Cole opened its first outlet in New York in 1984.

Chairman and chief creative officer Kenneth Cole privatised the company in 2012.

The company mostly generated its revenues from licensing deals and therefore, it felt there was no requirement for physical stores.
