US-based grocery retailer Kroger is planning to hire 10,000 permanent employees in its supermarkets this year.
The company claimed that its workforce grew by more than 12,000 associates last year, and over 86,000 permanent jobs over the past eight years, which do not include positions created due to capital investment, temporary construction jobs, or mergers.
Kroger human resources and labour relations group vice-president Tim Massa said: "Kroger's growth trajectory continues to create opportunities for our people to advance their careers, and to do that in a fun, team environment with great benefits.
"We're looking for associates who are passionate about people and about food, and who want to make a difference for our customers, communities and each other.”
Kroger and its subsidiaries collectively employ more than 443,000 associates.
Massa added: “Kroger is a place where you can come for a job and stay for a career."
