US-based retailer Macy’s has signed an agreement with G-III Apparel Group to serve as the exclusive US department store for DKNY women’s apparel and accessories from next February.
G-III Apparel manufactures and distributes clothing and accessories under licensed, owned and private label brands.
Under the terms of the agreement, Macy’s stores and website will carry DKNY women’s apparel, handbags and shoes, as well as outerwear and swimwear for both men and women.
Macy’s and G-III will work together on brand extensions and exclusive products.
The agreement also plans for increased DKNY shop-in-shops in Macy’s stores.
Macy’s president and CEO Jeff Gennette said: “We want to create partnerships that offer our customers products and experiences that they can find only at Macy’s, and DKNY is a fashion-first brand we know our customers love.

G-III Apparel Group chairman and CEO Morris Goldfarb said: "We have worked well with Macy’s in the past with respect to our portfolio of brands and we are confident that this partnership with Macy’s will help DKNY flourish and capture market share.”
G-III will continue to operate the freestanding global DKNY stores and DKNY.com, as well as maintain the latter’s agreements with global licence partners and distributors located outside of the US.
Products that are outside the exclusive categories and distributed by DKNY’s licensees under other categories in its family will continue to be sold to a range of department stores, including Macy’s.
