Global luxury company Montblanc has partnered with Tata Group’s watch making unit Titan to establish its retail stores across India.

The partnership will see the opening of five Montblanc boutiques in Indian metro cities of Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi over the next three months.

The move marks Montblanc’s re-entry to India after the failure of its earlier venture with cricketer turned entrepreneur Dilip Doshi.

Titan Company managing director Bhaskar Bhat said: "With Titan’s strong position and Montblanc’s iconic, luxury offering across its portfolio, there is no doubt that the Maison’s appeal and success will only continue to grow."

Montblanc International executive vice-president of sales Nicolas Baretzki said: "We are delighted to partner with Titan in India. This is a market that presents exceptional opportunity for Montblanc, and our expansion strategy will certainly help serve our strong and loyal client base here."

Titan plans to open two boutiques later this month at Palladium Mall in Mumbai and Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi.

The boutiques will have a range of Maison’s writing instruments, jewelry for men and women and artisanal leather goods.
