US-based fashion retailer Nordstrom is planning to open its Nordstrom Rack off-price retail division at the Vintage Oaks shopping centre in Novato, California.

Expected to open in third quarter of next year, the new 39,000ft² store will be the first to open in Marin County and expands the line of Nordstrom Rack stores in northern California to 18.

Vintage Oaks is owned by Hawaii-based real estate firm James Campbell Company, while it is supervised by a lease-driven property management firm Crosspoint Realty Services.

“We’ve long been eager to find the right location to add a Nordstrom Rack.”

Nordstrom Rack president Geevy Thomas said: “We’ve served customers in Marin County for over 30 years with our full line store at Corte Madera, and we’ve long been eager to find the right location to add a Nordstrom Rack.”

Nordstrom Rack will be one of the stores in the shopping centre such as Costco, Target, Marshalls, Ross, DSW, Old Navy, Ann Taylor Loft and Sephora.

James Campbell Company retail vice-president Kathleen Burgi-Sandell said: “Nordstrom Rack has been in our sights for many years, and we are fortunate to finally have an ideal location for them in the shopping centre.”

Nordstrom Rack offers apparel, accessories and shoes from Nordstrom stores and website, as well as items bought from brands sold by the retailer.
