US-based fashion retailer Nordstrom is set to open a new Nordstrom Rack store at Cascade Station in Portland, Oregon.

The 120-acre Cascade Station development is located northeast of downtown Portland and yields 800,000ft² of retail space, 1.2 million ft2 of office space and 250 hotel rooms.

The 28,000ft² Nordstrom Rack store is scheduled to open this year and will join other retailers such as Marshall's, DSW, HomeGoods, Best Buy, Ikea and Target.

Nordstrom Rack president Karen McKibbin said: "We're excited to grow our presence in Portland with a new store at Cascade Station.

"We've had our eye out for the right location here for a while, and we look forward to delivering better convenience for our customers who live in, and visit, the northeast side of Portland."

The new store will be the chain's fifth location in the Portland area, where the company’s first stand-alone Nordstrom Rack store was opened in Clackamas in 1983.

Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, offering customers a range of on-trend apparel, accessories and shoes.

Nordstrom operates 349 stores in 40 states, including 123 full-line stores in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico; 215 Nordstrom Rack store, two Jeffrey boutiques and two clearance stores.

Online services are also offered through Nordstrom.com, Nordstromrack.com and HauteLook.
