Speciality pet retailer PetSmart has opened four new stores across the US.
The four stores include brances at Houston, Texas; West Long Branch, New Jersey; Walnut Creek, California; and Bloomington, Illinois.
All four stores opened on 3 December.
At the opening ceremony, free giveaways such as t-shirts, pet treat samples, pet toys and discount coupons were given to customers.
The store in Bloomington has 23,000ft² in retail space; the Houston outlet has 18,000ft²; the West Long Branch store has 16,000ft²; and the Walnut Creek outlet has 10,000ft².
The stores provide pet food, as well as a wide range of products and services such as pet training, adoption and a grooming salon for dogs and cats.
PetSmart was founded in 1987 and currently operates 1,500 pet stores in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, along with 203 in-store PetSmart PetsHotel dog and cat boarding facilities.
The reatiler currently employs around 53,000 people.
In addition to retail stores, it also offers pet supplies and pet care information online through PetSmart.com, PetFoodDirect.com, Pet360.com and petMD.com.
PetSmart provides shelter to more than 500,000 homeless pets each year through in-store pet adoption and in collaboration with independent nonprofit organisations such as PetSmart Charities and PetSmart Charities of Canada.
