US-based Publix Super Markets has extended its online social presence with launch of its first blog site for customer engagement.

Blog.publix.com will include posts on topics ranging from recipes, community initiatives and sustainability ideas to holiday entertaining, health and wellness and more.

Visitors to the blog can comment on posts or share them on social media sites.

The retailer made its social media presence in July 2011 through Facebook, and forayed into Twitter in February 2013 to offer brand content and customer service.

Last year, the retailer joined Instagram and Pinterest in an effort to provide platforms for its customers to understand its expertise and services while allowing for engagement in fun ways.

Instagram has more than 52,000 followers, and nearly 22,000 followers on Pinterest.
