Lifestyle footwear and workwear retailer Red Wing Shoe Company has opened a new store in League City, Texas, US.
The move is part of the company’s decision to relocate its Houston store on Reed Road to the new location in order to serve the needs of local oil, gas and petrochemical businesses.
Red Wing Shoe Company North America sales and operations vice-president Shawn Sweeney said: “In addition to our wide selection of footwear, we are excited by the fact that the League City store is able to better service industrial workers through our PPE and FR garments.”
Taking into consideration the store’s proximity to the industrial workforce, it will offer flame-resistant (FR) workwear, safety glasses, gloves and other personal protective equipment (PPE) accessories, in addition to purpose-built footwear.
It is also expected to feature the company’s range of handcrafted work-inspired lifestyle footwear and its Vasque range of hiking boots and shoes.
The store has been designed to incorporate an industrial work-themed atmosphere.
Founded in 1905, Red Wing Shoe Company also operates several brands, including Red Wing, Irish Setter, Vasque, and WORX, along with a network of more than 500 Red Wing stores.
