US-based Ross Stores has announced plans to open 25 Ross Dress for Less and nine dd's DISCOUNTS outlets across 16 states this month.
These expansions are part of a larger plan to open 90 new locations by the end of the year, including 70 Ross and 20 dd’s DISCOUNTS stores.
Ross Stores' president and chief development officer Jim Fassio said: “We entered two new states in October, with stores in North and South Dakota, and continued to expand dd's DISCOUNTS by opening its first location in Colorado.
“This opening group completes our 2016 store growth plans.
"Looking ahead, we continue to see plenty of opportunity to expand our store base across both new and existing markets, and remain confident that over the long-term, Ross Dress for Less can grow to 2,000 locations and dd's DISCOUNTS can become a chain of 500 stores."
Ross Stores currently operates 1,342 Ross Dress for Less locations across 36 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam. It also owns 193 dd's DISCOUNTS stores in 15 different states.
Ross Stores is headquartered in Dublin, California. The company generated revenues of around $11.9bn in 2015.
