Research and advisory firm Supply Chain Insights has launched a new simulation game to enable businesses to understand market-driven supply chains.
The Supply Chain Insights Impact! game was developed in partnership with LLamasoft, a supply chain optimisation software and solutions provider.
It was designed to address the multi-dimensional change occurring in the industry with the influx of next-generation supply chain practitioners.
Supply Chain Insights founder and CEO Lora Cecere said: “Businesses are struggling to effectively package up all the knowledge of current workforces to equip the talent that will shape the supply chain of tomorrow.
“This game is an effective, fun method for your teams to work together to understand the business impact of decisions made at different points in a complex supply chain.”
As an experiential learning methodology, gamification is aimed at transferring knowledge on different aspects of the supply chain to people entering the industry from other business functions, or novice workers.
LLamasoft solution strategy vice-president Jeff Metersky said: “Supply Chain Insights selected LLamasoft to partner with to leverage our Planning by Design and Supply Chain Simulation Technology in order to architect a unique gamified environment that demonstrates how collaboration with insightful information drives better decision-making across the stakeholders in the supply chain."
According to LLamasoft, the algorithms used in developing the game can visualise the supply chain’s complex interactions and resulting performance to enhance the players’ decision-making skills during the future course of work.
