US-based apparel brand Brooks Brothers has expanded its retail operations in India with the opening of its tenth store.

Spread over 2,000ft², the outlet, under the Red Fleece by Brooks Brothers brand, is located in Mall of India in Noida, a city in the northern part of the country.

Following the opening of this store, the firm currently has seven mainline outlets and three Red Fleece by Brooks Brothers stores.

"With more workplaces endorsing smart casuals as the dress code, the launch of this store is well timed."

The new outlet will offer both classic and contemporary menswear collection.

Brooks Brothers India business head Anand Nair was quoted Indiaretailing.com as saying: "The Indian customer loves colour and should find an immediate connect with Red Fleece’s playful spirit, inherent in its bright hues.

"With more workplaces endorsing smart casuals as the dress code, the launch of this store is well timed."

In India, the clothing brand has a joint venture with Reliance Brands.

Founded in 1818, Brooks Brothers secured FDI approval in 2012.
