Walmart has introduced Walmart Pay in its stores in Oregon, the US.
This checkout-changing service will be available in more than 30 stores in the state.
Enabling a safe, easy and convenient way for customers to pay with their smartphones, the service aims to improve the checkout process and expand mobile payment access.
Walmart US services senior vice-president Daniel Eckert said: "The service was built to make shopping easier and faster, something we know our customers want."
Walmart claims to be the only retailer to offer its own payment solution that works with any iOS or Android device in a checkout lane.
It is connected to major credit, debit and prepaid cards, as well as Walmart gift cards.
