Weis Markets has signed an agreement to acquire five stores of Mars Super Markets in Baltimore County, Maryland, US.

Weis Markets has signed an agreement to acquire five stores of Mars Super Markets in Baltimore County, Maryland, US.

Expected to be complete by July, the deal is part of Weis Markets's strategy to increase its presence in the region.

Following the acquisition, Weis Markets will operate nine stores in Baltimore County. The company currently has stores in Perry Hall, Towson and Woodlawn.

"This is an important acquisition for us as we've been steadily expanding within Baltimore County in recent years."

Weis Markets currently operates 162 stores in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, and New York.
