US retailer The Yankee Candle Company has selected Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions' TCxWave point-of-sale (POS) system to improve the customer checkout experience.
Toshiba claimed that its POS solution offers durability, transaction time improvement and ergonomics to update the store associates’ environment. The TCxWave will be deployed across stores in North America and the UK this year.
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions North America head of sales vice-president Bill Campbell said: “As the most recognised brand in the candle business, we are delighted to provide The Yankee Candle Company with technology to deliver enriched shopping experiences for their customers, as well as a frictionless checkout.”
A designer, manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of premium scented candles, The Yankee Candle Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Newell Brands and sells its products through a North American wholesale customer network, which includes 35,000 locations, direct mail catalogues and an international wholesale customer network.
The Yankee Candle Company information technology vice-president Dave Harris said: “We selected Toshiba’s POS solutions to support our new retail infrastructure because of the unique design, durability, product road map and ability to strengthen our customer engagement.”
To modernise its retail technology and accommodate future growth, the candle retailer sought for a solution that offered a versatile design with gesture touch-based screen functionality that enables investment protection for its evolving retail space.
