Fashion retailer Nordstrom has opened a new 1,800ft2 service hub, Nordstrom Local Upper East Side, at 1273 3rd Avenue in New York City, US.

The retailer will also open a second 2,200ft2 service hub, Nordstrom Local West Village, at 13 7th Avenue in the city on 27 September.

These two service hubs will allow the retailer to better serve its customers in terms of speed and convenience.

The new additions will increase the company’s total Nordstrom Local service hubs in the New York City to six area locations.

In May this year, Nordstrom announced plans to open its first department store for women, as well as two service hubs in New York City.

Nordstrom stores president Jamie Nordstrom said: “Nordstrom Local is about giving customers more access to brands and styles they love, to try on or take home in a fast and convenient way. We hope to make shopping easy by being closer to where our customers live and work.

“Whether it is our Nordstrom Local locations on the Upper East Side and in the West Village, our new Flagship opening in October, or our Nordstrom Rack locations across the city, we want to bring the added convenience of services, such as online order pick-up, fast and easy returns, alterations, styling and more as close to customers as possible.”

Nordstrom Local is a convenient service hub that allows customers to access the company’s product and services from the location of their choice.

The company allows customers at the two new service hubs to access services, such as online order pick-up, fast and easy returns, and alterations.

Other services include styling offerings like consultations, and appointments; shoe, handbag and small leather goods repair; and elevated gift wrapping with Paper Source, including a self-wrapping station.

The company also operates three service hubs in California including Melrose, Brentwood and Downtown Los Angeles.
