Primark, the international budget fashion retailer, has unveiled the opening date for its third store in Romania.
Scheduled to open on 7 August 2024, the new store will be located within the Iulius Town Timișoara mixed-use shopping centre development, marking the brand’s debut in western Romania.
This strategic expansion comes a year and a half after Primark’s successful entry into the Romanian market with its first two stores in the country’s capital, Bucharest.
The Timișoara opening signifies a crucial step in Primark’s ambitious growth plans across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), according to the company.
Spanning more than 3,200m² on the first floor of the aforementioned shopping centre, the new store will offer customers the latest trends in women’s, men’s, and children’s wear, alongside beauty and homeware essentials.
Sustainability remains a core focus, with Primark’s ever-expanding ‘Primark Cares’ label prominently featured in the store.

“It is an important milestone in our CEE expansion plans and a much-anticipated opening for Romania,” said Maciej Podwojski, sales head at Primark CEE.
“We know our customers in the western region of Romania were travelling abroad to visit Primark stores, so this opening will bring the Primark brand closer to them.”
CEE remains a key growth market for Primark.
The retailer recently opened its first store in Hungary, marking its sixth market in the region with a current total of 13 stores.
Beyond Timișoara, Primark plans two further CEE openings this year, with stores scheduled for Bydgoszcz, Poland, and a second location in Prague, Czech Republic.
