Walmart: Going Beyond Company Disclosures

Walmart has rounded out its fiscal year with a strong set of numbers that show it has taken supply chain disruption, rising costs, heavy inflation, and various other problems in its stride. There is comfortable growth on both the top and bottom lines, which is extremely respectable given tough prior year comparatives. Walmart hiring is slowing down as compared to hiring in the months of April and March in 2022. Walmart posted close to 40,000 vacancies in March and 30,000 in April, which has gone below 10,000 in June 2022. Walmart Company Filings has most of the mentions related to the ESG and COVID-19 themes in 2021. ESG has more than 300 mentions in the company’s 2021 filings which indicates the rising focus on ESG-related issues. The partnership will focus on improving retail customers’ end-to-end integrated approach to productivity, forecasting, and budgeting.

REPL’s ADAPT technology will be integrated with Connors’ cloud-based engineered labour standards software platform LaborPro. This combined technology will allow the retailers to manage complex labour models and make better productivity and workforce decisions.

“Connors Group and REPL Group naturally complement each other and we view this partnership as an opportunity to unlock significantly more value for our clients.”

ADAPT is designed to calculate, manage and analyse data using artificial intelligence and machine learning. It provides insights into business operations that assist retailers in planning, preparing and mitigating risks.

Connors Group senior director Chris Kelly said: “Connors Group and REPL Group naturally complement each other and we view this partnership as an opportunity to unlock significantly more value for our clients.

“Our joint solutions allow our clients to maximise the benefit of their labour standards-based labour models to drive operational improvements in the business.”

REPL Group will also have the chance to continue providing its support to global brands on business digitisation and workforce productivity solutions.

REPL Group CEO Cerys Johnson said: “I am very excited about this partnership with Connors Group. It allows our customers to revolutionise their approach to in-store productivity at a time when it has never been more vital.

“We look forward to building on an already successful relationship for the benefit of both REPL Group and Connors Group customers.”
