New Zealand-based computing and IT retailer PB Technologies has signed a distribution agreement with Australia-based Family Zone Cyber Safety to sell the latter’s products and services in the country.

As part of the agreement, PB Technologies will offer customers access to Family Zone products and services in-store and online and schools to incorporate Family Zone in BYOD programmes starting from December this year.

Established in 1993, PB Technologies currently operates the business across 11 superstores plus service and retail stores in New Zealand.

It also offers IT and technology services around half of all schools in the country. The retailer currently employs more than 500 people.

Operating business from Manukau, Auckland, PB Technologies currently has wholesale, commercial, education, online, and service divisions.

Last month, Auckland District Court ordered PB Technologies to pay a fine of $77,000 over 14 charges for selling non-compliant extended warranties.

The Commerce Commission alleged that the retailer sold more than 4,50 of its PB Care extended warranties between 11 May and 30 November last year without providing fair information to make an informed decision.
