US-based convenience store chain Ricker’s has partnered with self-checkout platform Skip to introduce frictionless checkout technology, GoSkip, at its 58 stores in Indiana.
GoSkip combines mobile pay and AmazonGo experiences, enabling customers to purchase in-store items at the pump or prior to arrival, while offering easy access to promotional deals.
Skip CEO and founder Chase Thomason said: “We are so excited to work with Ricker’s to tailor our proven product specifically to the convenience store customer experience.
“Their long-standing dedication to this objective and vision for the future was a match made in heaven for Skip.”
According to Skip, the checkout technology allows customers to complete payment faster through instant pay-and-go action.
Through this partnership, Skip enables Ricker’s to increase transactions and frequency such as higher conversions from the forecourt to the food court.
The payment platform has also partnered with Zipline to act as a cost cutter for retail businesses in a move to reduce transaction fees.
Ricker’s CEO and president Quinn Ricker said: “By adding Skip to our arsenal of customer service competencies, we expect to see higher frequency and volume of transactions simply from the competitive advantage this partnership will provide.
“Not to mention being able to convert frequent fuel purchasers into loyal in-store customers.”
Skip will also integrate Zipline and Kickback Rewards, and introduce the fully optimised solution across all Ricker’s locations by the end of next month.
