US-based off-price apparel and home fashion chain Ross Stores has expanded its presence by opening 42 stores across 19 US states.
The new locations are part of the company’s strategy to open 100 new stores in the US this year, which includes 75 Ross Dress for Less and 25 dd’s Discounts stores.
The company opened 30 Ross Dress for Less and 12 dd’s Discounts stores during this month and last month.
Currently, a total of 1,811 off-price apparel and home fashion stores are operated by Ross Dress for Less and dd’s Discounts in 39 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam.
Ross Stores president and chief development officer Jim Fassio said: “This fall, we continued to expand our Ross and dd’s footprints across our existing markets, as well as expansion in our newer market, the Midwest.
“The 42 locations we added this fall included nine stores in our newer Midwest markets of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, and Ohio. In addition, dd’s Discounts entered the state of Virginia with the opening of one new store and now operates in 19 states.
“Looking ahead, we remain confident in our ability to grow to 2,400 Ross Dress for Less and 600 dd’s Discounts locations over time.”
Headquartered in Dublin, California, the retailer reported $15bn in revenue during the fiscal year 2018.
In July, the apparel and home fashion chain expanded its presence by opening 28 new stores across ten US states.
