Saks Fifth Avenue expands footprint in Canada

US-based luxury department store Saks Fifth Avenue (Saks) has further expanded its footprint in the Canadian retail market by opening a new store at the CF Chinook Centre in Calgary.

US-based luxury department store Saks Fifth Avenue (Saks) has further expanded its footprint in the Canadian retail market by opening a new store at the CF Chinook Centre in Calgary.

The 15,000ft² two-level retail store will feature a collection of luxury handbags, shoes and accessories for both men and women.

The first floor will feature handbags, its famed 10022-Shoe salon and accessories from premier brands such as Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang, Manolo Blahnik, Valentino, Balenciaga, and Givenchy.

The first floor also includes beauty, apothecary, fragrance and all men’s categories.

“This is an experience clients cannot get anywhere else and we look forward to joining the Calgary community.”

The second floor will include women’s ready-to-wear and denim collections, as well as a dedicated Fur Salon.

Saks president Marc Metrick said: “Our strategy for all stores in North America is to create one-of-a-kind experiences for our clients, this is what we call ‘The New Luxury’.

The company also intends to open an in-store dining experience and salon later this year.

Saks chief merchant Tracy Margolies said: “Saks prides itself in offering the best brands and styles in a curated and distinctive point of view, known as the ‘Saks Edit’.

“Saks Calgary boasts a luxury footwear selection as well as exclusive beauty brands such as Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Ex Nihilo and Chantecaille, among others. This distinct edit, coupled with our exceptional services, will establish Saks as the Calgary shopping destination.”
