US-based online marketplace Shipt has partnered with four major retailers, BI-LO, Target, Kroger and Publix, to offer same-day delivery services in Myrtle Beach metro area.
Under the partnership, Shipt will allow more than 50,000 households in Myrtle Beach to shop an assortment of groceries and home essentials from the four retailers.
The delivery service, scheduled to begin on 08 May this year, will be available to customers on a membership basis.
Shipt founder and chief executive officer Bill Smith said: “We know our members appreciate a flexible, personalized approach to shopping, and our launch in Myrtle Beach signifies our commitment to providing multiple retailer options that fit the preferences of each busy family or individual.
“Through our app, everything our members need is right at their fingertips and can be on their kitchen counter in as soon as one hour.”
New members, who sign up for Shipt service prior to the launch, will receive an annual membership for $49.
In addition, the company will hire more than 150 new employees in the area as Shipt Shoppers to assist customers in each order.
Established in 2014, Shipt offers same-day shopping services to customers through its online marketplace on a membership basis priced at $99 per year.
Customers can browse, search and shop an assortment of products online and opt for one-hour delivery using the app.
