Office supply retail chain Staples Canada has partnered with US grocery delivery service Instacart to trial same-day delivery service, in select locations, across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
The partnership marks the entry of Instacart into the office supply retail category in Canada.
The trial will be conducted across five locations in the GTA, including 3150 Dufferin Street, 250 Front Street East, 1140 Yonge Street, 542 Keele Street and 32 Steeles Avenue West.
Customers can place orders for working and learning products using the Instacart mobile app or its e-commerce platform, Instacart.ca. The products will then be delivered within one hour of placing the order.
Staples Canada CEO David Boone said: “Our customers, whether they’re entrepreneurs, parents, students or teachers, have hectic schedules and we want to make it easier for them to get the tools they need to be successful.
“This partnership with Instacart enhances our e-commerce experience, providing our customers with the added convenience of same-day delivery, on top of our already rich delivery options.”
The grocery delivery firm is offering the service at $3.99, while the members of Instacart Express membership can access an unlimited, free delivery service for all orders of $35 and above.
Headquartered near Toronto, Ontario, Staples Canada currently operates 305 locations across the country, as well as an online platform at staples.ca.
The retailer currently offers next-day delivery to 85% of the Canadian market, along with a two-hour buy online, pick up in-store service.
