Retail technology solutions firm Truno has signed an acquisition agreement to purchase US-headquartered retail hardware and software provider Radius Solutions.

The deal is part of the company’s efforts to expand its business as a technology partner to retailers in the country.

Truno completed ten acquisitions over the past ten years to expand its business into new geographic regions and add new talent to its team.

Radius offers retail technology solutions, including hardware, software and services to more than 4,000 retailers nationwide.

The merger allows both the companies to access a combined customer base of 12,000 retail locations, greater operational efficiencies and agility in scale.

Together the companies are able to also offer solutions in point-of-sale hardware, software and value-add services.

Truno chief executive officer Brad Ralston said: “Truno continues to grow in depth of solution and nationwide reach within the retail industry. This acquisition strengthens Truno’s position in delivering superior managed services and end-to-end stability to grocers nationwide.”

Tthe acquisition will also offer retailers extended reach to Truno’s service network, as well as access to active help-desk monitoring by 24×7 Truno Support Center.

It will also allow retailers to handle large scale implementation rollouts in-house through project management and installation solutions, as well as high return on technology investment through customisation and integration solutions.

Radius Solutions president Jeff Watts said: “Truno is respected in the industry for delivering a steadfast partnership to retailers, while investing in best-of-breed technology to navigate the ever-changing retail landscape.

“The Radius customer base will benefit from the expansion of solution offering they are now able realise through Truno.”

Truno expects to complete the transaction by the end of this month, following which Radius will be moved to operate under its brand.
