US-based ridesharing giant Uber Technologies and beauty brand The Body Shop have expanded their on-demand delivery service in the US.

As part of the partnership, Uber Eats will offer same-day deliveries of products from 75 The Body Shop outlets across the country.

From 10 August, customers in cities such as Illinois, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania, as well as Alaska and Hawaii, can order from more than 2,000 of the retailer’s items through the Uber Eats mobile app.

The partners will offer free delivery for Uber One members on all The Body Shop orders worth $15 or more.

Uber Eats US & Canada new verticals head Christian Freese said: “When it comes to delivery at Uber, we strive to be able to get consumers whatever they want, when they want it – and that includes their beauty must-haves.

“Beauty is an exciting space for us, and expanding with The Body Shop, a beauty industry staple for over 40 years, will allow us to bring on-demand cosmetic and personal care items to even more people across the country.”

Uber and The Body Shop launched their partnership in 2020 with six pilot locations on the Uber Eats and Cornershop apps.

Uber said the expansion highlights its ongoing commitment to the retail and grocery categories.

The Body Shop US marketing assistant vice-president Aliza Birnberg-Perruzzi said: “Two years since we’re thrilled to expand our partnership to now offer reliable, fast, same-day delivery to all of our US customers, in 75 stores across the country.

“Uber Eats allows us to continue to meet our existing customers changing shopping habits and grow our customer base by meeting the needs of the beauty consumer in the US today.”

In May this year, Uber extended its partnership with grocery store chain Albertsons Companies by adding more US stores to Uber Eats.
