US chain Yesway buys 13 Chisum convenience stores

US-based convenience store chain Yesway has acquired 13 Chisum Travel Center and Fast Stop convenience stores in Texas, expanding its footprint.

US-based convenience store chain Yesway has acquired 13 Chisum Travel Center and Fast Stop convenience stores in Texas, expanding its footprint.

The retailer currently owns and operates 52 stores in the state and this deal is the third acquisition for the convenience store chain in this quarter.

Of the 13 stores, two of the stores are located in Lubbock and one each in Amarillo, Friona, Dimmit, Littlefield, Shallowater, Olton, Hart, Brownfield, Floydada, Ropesville, and Iowa Park.

Yesway acquisitions director Thomas W Brown said: “We have always been attracted to the Texas market and continue to evaluate numerous portfolios and individual store acquisitions in the state.

“Our goal is to expand our Texas portfolio to well over 100 stores in the coming years.”

Yesway also plans to expand its store portfolio to 150 stores within the next four to six weeks. The retailer signed contracts to acquire the additional stores.

Currently operating 116 stores in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, Yesway also plans to increase its store portfolio to 500 in the US over the next several years.

Yesway is currently headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, and operates convenience stores under BW Gas & Convenience banner.
