British supermarket chain Waitrose & Partners has entered into an agreement with international hypermarket group City Centre Group to export its products to Kuwait.

The partnership marks the first international deal for Waitrose since its rebrand last year, as well as the first time in two years for the retailer to sell products in Kuwait.

Waitrose & Partners B2B head Barry Delehanty said: “We are proud that Waitrose & Partners continues to be recognised around the world for quality and this is an exciting opportunity to bring our products to a new audience.”

As part of the deal, the British supermarket chain will offer around 100 products, including Waitrose Duchy Organic, essential Waitrose, Waitrose & Partners Free From and Waitrose 1 own label ranges, across six City Centre stores.

“We are very thrilled to fulfil their aspirations by including exclusively under City Centre’s umbrella the premium food range of Waitrose & Partners.”

Products offered by the supermarket chain include coffee, peanut butter, teas, coffees, confectionery, jams, cereals and a range of oils, soups, pastas and sauces.

The six stores are located in Bneid Al Qar, Shuwaikh, Salmiya, Dajeej, Jahra and Dasma.

Waitrose & Partners currently operates 349 stores including 61 convenience locations in England, Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands, along with 27 shops at Welcome Break locations.

Established in 1999, City Centre Group currently operates six hypermarkets in Kuwait offering a range of products across food, fresh food, garments, house wares, electronics, beauty care and toys categories.
