US drugstore chain Walgreens has partnered with technology company Theatro to deploy the latter’s enterprise-wide solution at all its 9,560 stores.
As part of the deal, the drugstore chain will focus on deploying the solution at 1,000 locations this year.
The retailer’s store associates can use Theatro’s service to communicate with each other to enhance customers and patient experience.
Powered by the company’s artificial intelligence, Theatro’s Intelligent Assistant solution allows store associates to get the information they need to perform their role.
The technology also allows employees to connect with the retailer’s enterprise network and their leadership team using a small voice-controlled Internet of Things device.
Walgreens operations president Richard Ashworth said: “As we transform our stores into modern neighborhood health destinations, it’s critical that we enable our store teams to enhance the experience for customers and patients.
