US-based supermarket Walmart is planning to expand its online grocery delivery service to more than 100 metro areas across the country this year.

, the service is currently offered in six markets across the US.

Walmart US president and CEO Greg Foran said: “We’re saving customers time by leveraging new technology and connecting all the parts of our business into a single seamless shopping experience: great stores, easy pick-up, fast delivery, and apps and websites that are simple to use.

“We’re serving our customers in ways that no one else can. Using our size and scale, we’re bringing the best of Walmart to customers across the country.”

Using Walmart’s grocery delivery service, customers will have the convenience to receive the delivery of their products at their specified location.

The supermarket currently delivers a wide-range of products, including fresh produce, meat, seafood, bakery items and seasonal general merchandise.
