Wills Group buys Tevis Oil convenience store business in US

US-based privately held company The Wills Group, through its propane, heating oil and HVAC equipment brand SMO, Incorporated, has acquired retail fuel and convenience store business, Tevis Oil.

According to the company, the deal was finalised on 7 September and includes Tevis Oil’s nine retail locations located in Northern Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania.

The deal will expand Wills Group and SMO’s retail portfolio to 285 locations across the US. SMO will now operate Tevis Oil’s retail locations under its Jiffy Mart brand.

The Wills Group retail marketing division executive vice-president Julian B (Blackie) Wills said: “Jiffy Mart joins a strong family of brands across our retail business, which includes Dash In, Splash In ECO Car Wash, and SMO Motor Fuels.

“We look forward to expanding our footprint into Carroll County and Southern Pennsylvania, and having the opportunity to serve customers there.”

Wills Group is currently in the process of transitioning supplier and vendor agreements to SMO, as well as to integrate the Jiffy Mart line of business into its retail fuels and convenience store operations.

The company operates various businesses, including SMO Energy, Dash In Food Stores, Splash In ECO Car Wash, SMO Motor Fuels, and Potomac Energy Holdings.

Established in 1926, SMO offers propane, heating oil and HVAC equipment in Southern Maryland through its fleet of delivery and service vehicles, as well as convenience stores.
