Instacart has become World Market’s “first and exclusive” nationwide online same-day delivery partner, adding the speciality retailer’s global food, home décor, furniture and gift assortment to the Instacart Marketplace.
Under the deal, customers can order World Market products through the Instacart app and website for delivery in as fast as one hour. Instacart said the assortment will be offered with no markups.
The partnership gives the US-based World Market a new e-commerce delivery channel and expands Instacart’s presence beyond grocery into home and lifestyle categories.
Instacart chief commercial officer Ryan Hamburger said: “World Market has built an incredibly loyal following of customers who love discovering something new every time they walk through the door, and we are thrilled to bring that same feeling of discovery directly to their homes for the first time with the speed and convenience of same-day delivery.
“As the only online marketplace offering a wide variety of World Market products for delivery in as fast as an hour, we are proud to help customers get the things they love—from internationally inspired foods and beverages to unique, imported home decor.”
Through Instacart, shoppers can browse World Market’s range of internationally inspired foods and beverages, home décor, furniture and gifts, including items sourced from regional and individual artisans.
World Market CEO Eric Hunter said: “Partnering with Instacart is an exciting new chapter for World Market and a natural extension of our commitment to making the World Market experience as accessible and convenient as possible for our customers.
“Our stores are filled with inspiring finds from around the globe, and now, customers can have that same curated assortment delivered to their doorstep the same day.”
World Market joins more than 2,200 retail banners already on the Instacart Marketplace across beauty, grocery, home improvement, household, pet and wellness.
The agreement follows a series of category expansions by Instacart.
Last week, the company struck an exclusive same-day delivery partnership with Petsense, while earlier moves added retailers such as Tractor Supply and Academy Sports + Outdoors to its marketplace.
