Canadian athleticwear retailer Lululemon has entered Greece through a franchise arrangement with Arion Retail Group, becoming the brand's third new market this year.

The initial location is in Athens' Kolonaki district, covering around 180m².

It stocks women's and men's technical apparel and accessories across yoga, Pilates, running, training, golf, tennis, and everyday movement.

A second Athens outlet is due to follow in June at Golden Hall shopping mall in Marousi, northern Athens, spanning 290m² across two floors.

Both locations are intended to serve as community hubs, engaging local run clubs, fitness studios, and trainers through events and collaborations.

Greece follows foray in Poland and Hungary, both in March 2026.

The company has outlined plans for six new market entries within a 12-month period through its franchise model, with Romania, Austria, and India among those planned for later in the year.

Lululemon EMEA senior vice president Sarah Clark said: “Together with our franchise partner Arion Retail Group, we look forward to introducing our premium performance products that blend technical innovation with elevated style to new guests in the market and building meaningful connections with the local community here in Athens.”

In a separate development last month, Lululemon Athletica named Heidi O'Neill as its next chief executive.

O'Neill, who will also join the board of directors and be based in Vancouver, takes up the role on 8 September 2026.

She succeeds the current interim leadership arrangement led by Meghan Frank and André Maestrini.

The announcement comes amid an ongoing boardroom dispute between the company and founder Chip Wilson.

Hours after Lululemon urged shareholders to support its new board nominees – describing Wilson's views as "outdated" – Wilson said he remained open to a quick resolution to the proxy battle, in which he has been pushing for a board overhaul.
