Zalando recorded a net loss in the third quarter (Q3) despite rising group revenue during the three months that ended 30 September 2026.

During the period, the company posted a net loss of €18m ($19.9m), down by €30.5m from the net income of €12.5m achieved in the third quarter of 2025.

Statutory earnings were weighed down by €58.1m in restructuring expenses and €21.7m in acquisition-related costs.

In addition, share-based payments amounted to €22.6m, alongside a €19.6m negative financial result and €11.5m in income tax expense.

Group gross merchandise volume rose 7.5% year-on-year (YoY) to €4.54bn, whilst total revenue increased 5.1% to €3.17bn.

Adjusted earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) advanced 10.6% to €106.5m.

The B2B division recorded revenue growth of 28% to €354.4m.

Zalando attributed this performance to demand across its ZEOS logistics services, its Tradebyte marketplace connectivity business, and its SCAYLE e-commerce software unit.

In the B2C segment, revenue climbed to €2.83bn from €2.75bn.

Active customers grew 2.9% YoY to 63.2 million, and total order volume rose to 73.8 million compared with 68.5 million previously.

Through the newly introduced Zalando Extended initiative, the group aims to incorporate items from online stores that Zalando does not sell directly.

Westwing is serving as the initial pilot partner, with Zalando planning to allow its AI agent to execute purchases of Westwing home and living products directly within the Zalando app starting in 2027.

Zalando reaffirmed its guidance for the full 2026 financial year, maintaining expectations for gross merchandise volume and revenue growth in the lower half of the 12% to 17% range, adjusted EBIT of €680m to €720m, and capital expenditure of €240m to €300m.

The group is scheduled to publish its full-year 2026 results on 11 March 2027.

Zalando CFO Anna Dimitrova said: “One year in, the About You integration is progressing well, and we have kept our momentum in delivering synergies. At the same time, our shift to a platform business model is accelerating, with our partner business and retail media growing at a double-digit rate and B2B revenue up almost 28%.

"This puts us in a strong position to create long-term value for customers, partners and shareholders."
