The EmSphere shopping centre is part of the Em District shopping and entertainment district located in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok, Thailand.

The Mall Group, a retail and entertainment complex developer, is the mall developer.

Opened in December 2023, the EmSphere shopping centre was developed with an investment of Bt15,000m ($417m).

Location

The EmSphere shopping centre is located on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok between Soi Sukhumvit 22 and Sukhumvit 24 within the central business district of Bangkok.

The project is part of the Em District, a shopping and entertainment district that consists of two shopping complexes named Emporium and EmQuartier.

The centre is accessible from the Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain station and can also be reached through buses and taxis.

EmSphere shopping centre features

The EmSphere shopping complex spans an area of approximately 200,000m2.

The centre includes retail, entertainment, lifestyle and dining facilities organised under various zones named Em Galleria, Em Lifestyle, Em Mercando, Em Wonder, Em Innovation, and Em Park.

The Em Galleria zone is designed for fashion enthusiasts and features global brands apart from Thai fashion products while Em Lifestyle hosts lifestyle brands designed to cater to the new generation.

Em Market houses leading restaurants and food brands offering street food and international cuisines.

Em Wonder is an entertainment zone featuring a beach club, bar, nightclub, and lounge while Em Park houses a sky-high green space for recreation and relaxation for the visitors.

The Em Innovation zone showcases advanced and innovative products from international brands.

The ground floor features the EM Yard, an open relaxation area for visitors that can be used for conducting art and cultural exhibitions.

Retail and dining facilities at EmSphere

The EmSphere shopping centre includes an Ikea City Store, named Ikea Sukhumvit, which is the first-of-its-kind in Thailand and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region. Covering an area of more than 15,000m2, it is housed on the third floor of the shopping centre.

Other retailers include Blink, ERB, Camp Studio, Technogym, Asia Books, ergo, VR Bear, Watsons, Apple, Omazz, Solar-D, Swoon Space, AIS, Lacoste, Burberry, TRUE, PIPATCHARA, and Medileen.

Luxury carmakers such as Rolls-Royce, Porsche, and Tesla also have showrooms at the centre.

The ground floor of the centre houses the Gourmet Market, a supermarket offering high-quality products from across the world.

Asian food brands at the mall include Ba Hao Tian Mi, Happy Pig, Hitori Shabu, Maisen, Ramyun Kitchen while Acai Story, Babycakes, Cheevit Cheeva, Bearhouse, Kanom, Souri, and Luggaw are some of the café and dessert stores.

Shake Shack, BKK Bagel, Fatbro, Saladstop, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar by Gordon Ramsey, and the Spotted Pig are some other dining options available at the mall.

Entertainment facilities

The EmSphere shopping mall’s fifth and sixth floors house 25 entertainment options, including pubs, bars, beach clubs, and supper clubs.

The centre is also home to the 12,000m2 UON LIVE entertainment venue with a capacity of approximately 6,000. It supports international performances, sporting events, concerts, fan meetings, fashion shows, exhibitions, competitions, and other shows.

Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), a sports and live entertainment company, and the EM District jointly announced plans to develop the venue as EM LIVE in September 2018. AEG is responsible for managing and operating the venue.

AEG and the EM District signed a naming rights agreement with United Overseas Bank (UOB) in August 2023 to name the venue as UOB LIVE.
