Travel retailer Hudson has partnered with John F Kennedy International Airport Terminal 4 operator, JFKIAT, for a new automated retail concept.

Located next to Five Borough Food Hall in T4, the contactless store is Hudson’s first such store in New York.

The 24/7 shopping destination offers a wide range of global brands and local products, including Brookstone, Apple, Beats, Bose, and Burt’s Bees.

Furthermore, the store features the first-ever Automated Teddy Machine from Build-A-Bear Workshop.

Hudson operation senior vice-president Joe Landolfi said: “The opening of our new automated retail concept at JFK T4 continues to build on our longstanding partnership with JFKIAT while elevating the specialty retail offerings we deliver for their international travellers.

“By combining a variety of leading, global brands with the unmatched convenience and accessibility that Hudson is known for, we are confident travellers of all ages will find everything they need and more in this innovative shopping experience.”

The partnership with Hudson is part of JFKIAT’s ongoing effort to offer a contactless customer experience.

The company partnered with Inflyter and DFS Group earlier this year to launch digital marketplace T4 Marketplace.

In 2019, JFKIAT launched AtYourGate, which enable customers to take delivery of their ordered food and beverages delivered at their gate.

JFKIAT president and CEO Roel Huinink said: “This partnership with Hudson is our latest move to enable a safe, seamless, and fully digital purchase process, creating a safer and more seamless journey for customers and employees.”

In August this year, Hudson revealed plans to launch Evolve by Hudson, a new shop-in-shop store concept designed for airports.
