The supermarket giant is withdrawing Paw Patrol Mini Biscotti and Paw Patrol Yummy Bakes from its shelves following customer complaints. Reports by The Sun revealed that the questionable URL leads customers to a pornographic website.

In a statement to The Mirror, Lidl stated, “As soon as this was brought to our attention, we immediately launched an investigation with the supplier that owns the URL and withdrew the item from sale. As a precautionary measure, we have also issued a public recall.”

Manufacturer identified; other retailers affected

Lidl has identified the manufacturer of these Paw Patrol products as Appy Kids Co, a company formerly owned by parent company Appy Food and Drinks, according to an article from The Grocer dating back to 2018.

However, it appears that this company now operates under a different name and has disassociated itself from the distribution of the recalled Paw Patrol products. It’s worth noting that Lidl wasn’t the sole retailer to carry these products, as Poundland also sold them in the past.

Poundland, however, confirmed that they haven’t had these items on their shelves since 2020 and are unaffected by the URL issue.

Recalled products and customer guidance

Lidl’s recall notice encompasses several Paw Patrol snack products, including Paw Patrol All Butter Mini Biscotti Biscuits and Paw Patrol Choc Chip Mini Biscotti Biscuits, both in packs of five, as well as Paw Patrol Yummy Bake Bars in Raspberry and Apple Flavours, also sold in packs of five.

The supermarket advises customers not to access the problematic URL and instead return the product to their nearest Lidl store, where a full refund will be provided.

Paw Patrol, a beloved children’s television show, features a young boy named Ryder who leads a team of rescue dogs, the Paw Patrol, on various missions and adventures to safeguard their community.
