As part of the contract, MAP will implement Blue Yonder’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) based Luminate Planning solutions.
Blue Yonder said that its solutions will drive the retailer’s international expansion strategy, as well as standardise merchandise planning and execution processes for collaborative, artificial intelligence (AI) data-driven decisions.
The solution is designed to improve customer experiences by creating customer-centric, localised assortments while enabling automated, collaborative decision-making for employees.
With Luminate Planning solutions, MAP can use merchant intent, automate distributions and replenishment to increase productivity in combination with other retail planning solutions to maximise margins.
MAP Active vice-president director Nick Jones said: “To support the rapid international expansion, we were seeking an automated merchandise planning solution that could cover a variety of capabilities across financial forecasting, data management, allocation and replenishment, and assortment planning.
“Blue Yonder’s Luminate Planning proved to have the end-to-end capabilities, as well as industry depth and breadth, needed to take our business to the next level.
“We are looking forward to enhancing customer experiences, attaining significant business benefits and building on the strong relationship with Blue Yonder for future capabilities.”
The company focuses on three business lines, namely Sports, Leisure and Kids.
Based in Arizona, Blue Yonder provides management, manufacturing planning, retail planning, store operations and category management services.
The company will work with its consulting partner, Infosys, in implementing its solutions across MAP’s operations.
In October last year, UK-based supermarket chain Asda selected Blue Yonder to optimise its end-to-end supply chain and retail operations.
The retailer is using the SaaS capabilities offered by Blue Yonder’s Luminate Planning, Commerce, Logistics and Control Tower solutions.
