Canadian footwear and outerwear brand Pajar has opened its first brick-and-mortar store in the US as part of its efforts to expand its global presence.

The 2,500ft² store is located in the SoHo neighbourhood of Lower Manhattan, New York City.

The family-owned brand opened the store with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The flagship store will offer around 300 varieties of Pajar’s signature footwear, apparel and accessories, including its current autumn collection.

It will also feature a private VIP lounge, visual displays and other facilities to provide customers with an in-person brand experience.

Pajar CEO Jacques Golbert said: “During a time when many retailers are pivoting from traditional storefronts and focusing on e-commerce models, Pajar Canada is seizing the opportunity to provide an elevated retail experience for outdoor and urban adventurers, as well as fashion enthusiasts.

“We’re so excited to open our first flagship location in SoHo to showcase the entirety of our lifestyle collections to the global community.”

Based in Montreal, Pajar is engaged in the manufacture, wholesale and retail of performance fashion footwear and outerwear.

The company’s product offerings are said to be inspired by its Canadian heritage.

In a statement, Pajar said: “Fusing innovative technology and the latest in high-end designs, Pajar’s performance collections are crafted in the finest waterproof leathers and textiles, blending modern industrial design with old-world craftsmanship.

“Now unveiling its first US retail location, Pajar continues to expand its consumer base and elevate the outdoor apparel and footwear industry.”

Last month, France-based footwear retailer Hoka One One opened pop-up shops in New York City and Los Angeles, the company’s first in-person retail locations.

The 2,000ft² New York City store is located in the city’s Flatiron neighbourhood, while the Los Angeles store is in West Hollywood and covers a 1,000ft² area.
